Sichuan Agricultural University
As a comprehensive university, Sichuan Agricultural University (SAU) occupies a leading position in research and teaching regarding biotechnology and agricultural sciences in China. It was established in 1906 and is part of the National 211 Project and China's Double First Class Program. SAU is composed of 26 colleges and 16 research institutes, covering many academic fields such as agricultural sciences, economics, and others. It offers 48 doctoral programs, 87 master's programs and 91 bachelor's programs. Its research lead to prominent achievements in breeding, cultivation and deep processing of corn, rice, and other crops, as well as in livestock farming and aquaculture. SAU offers courses in Animal Nutrition and Feeding, Crop Genetics and Breeding, Animal Genetics and Breeding, Preventive Veterinary Medicine. The subjects have been rated as national key disciplines in China. Its research output in the field of Agricultural Sciences and Plant & Animal Sciences ranks in the top 1% according to the Basic Science Indicators (ESI).
