On February 23, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Alois Heißenhuber received the Bavarian Environment Award.

The Bavarian Environment Award is conferred by the BUND Naturschutz Bayern e.V. since 1970 to prominent figures and organisations that made significant contributions in environmental protection. Prof. Heißenhuber, full professor for agricultural economics between 1996 and 2013, committed himself at an early stage to sustainable development in rural areas. 

With the Bavarian Environment Award, the BUND Naturschutz pays tribute to the work of Prof. Heißenhuber in the field of sustainable, resource-saving agriculture.
