Richard Smart's article "Trends in Approval Times for Genetically Engineered Crops in the United States and the European Union" published in the Journal of Agricultural Economics, was one of the journal’s top 20 most downloaded recent papers. As of year-end 2017 the article had received 1155 downloads. It generated immediate impact and helped to raise the visibility of the Chair's research.
