For the fourth time, Professor Sauer was invited as an external expert by the Asian Development Bank. The meeting in Manila included conceptual discussions and a workshop on "Economic Valuation of Ecosystem Services", where Professor Sauer also presented.

During his stay, Professor Sauer also visited the International Rice Research Institute in Los Banjos, Philippines. Besides a presentation, possible future research cooperation was discussed.
