Several reasons led Professor Sauer to South America at the end of April 2023. In addition to cooperation meetings with various South American partners, Professor Sauer gave a lecture at the Catholic University of Uruguay on "Economic and Environmental Performance of Latin American Agriculture." In addition, Professor Sauer participated in the First Latin American Workshop on Productivity and Efficiency at the invitation of the IAAE (The Argentinean, Chilean, and Uruguayan Agricultural Economics Associations and the International Association of Agricultural Economists), where he is also a member of the scientific committee. The conference was held in Montevideo, Uruguay, from April 19 to 21, and Professor Sauer participated in a panel discussion with fellow scientists on the topic of "Climatic and Environmental Challenges for Latin American Agriculture".
