The Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP) Partnership, launched by the FAO in July 2012, is a multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to improve the environmental performance of livestock supply chains while ensuring economic and social sustainability. The partnership, which includes experts from around the world and is based on the use of science-based approaches, aims to achieve a sustainable transformation of the livestock industry.
As part of his membership in the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the FAO LEAP partnership, Professor Sauer traveled to San José (Costa Rica) at the end of November and participated in the second meeting of the expert panel on "Circulating Bioeconomy Approaches and Ecosystem Services in the Livestock Industry".
