For the twelfth time, the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), an international conference dealing with key questions of the future of the global agriculture and food industry, is taking place during the International Green Week in Berlin. At the forum, around 2000 representatives from politics, business and civil society are given the opportunity to exchange views on and discuss current agricultural policy issues in the context of food security. The two-day forum is organized and led by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in cooperation with the Berlin Senate, Messe Berlin GmbH and GFFA Berlin e.V.
The diverse events that are held under the GFFA 2020 umbrella include an expert panel on the subject of "Strengthening the contributions of national and international markets to food security and nutrition". Together with other OECD consultants, Professor Sauer will give a presentation in this panel. His contribution is entitled "Enabling the participation of (smallholder) farmers in domestic and international value chains".
