In a five-day workshop, the Colombian Universidad de los Andes, together with the Universidad Icesi, the Instituto de Investigación de Recursos Biológicos Alexander von Humboldt and BRIDGE Colombia, will address the current state of the bioeconomy in Colombia. For this purpose, the organizers invite national and international stakeholders, entrepreneurs, researchers as well as representatives from politics and administration between Monday, March 15th and Friday, March 19th, to a number of virtual presentations and discussions. Against the backdrop of the workshop title "State of the Bioeconomy in Colombia", awareness of the importance of the bioeconomy in Colombia is to be raised and concepts for the sustainable development of the sector are to be developed.

At the invitation of the Universidad de los Andes, Professor Sauer gave a presentation entitled "Value Chains and Agriculture in the Bioeconomy" as one of three keynote speakers on the first day of the event.
