In its daily information program “alpha-Demokratie”, the German public broadcasting station ARD's educational channel, ARD-alpha, deals with central issues and developments in democratic systems. The topic of the broadcast from June 21 was "Farming and the Agricultural Policy". In the half-hour program, the role of agriculture in the area of tension between economic requirements, environmental protection and animal welfare was presented. Professor Sauer was a guest in the studio of the "Bayerischer Rundfunk", which produced the program. In an interview with journalist Mirjam Kottmann, he assessed current and future agricultural policy from a scientific point of view.
