Funded by the Bavarian Higher Education Centre for Latin America (BayLAT) Professor Sauer and Philipp Mennig spend ten days in Colombia in order to establish cooperations in research and teaching with partner institutions. They meet amongst others with environnmental and resource economists from Universidad de los Andes, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad del Valle, EAFIT and with colleagues from the research institutes CIAT and RIMISP. Main goals of the trip revolve around the development of joint research projects in the field of climate-smart agriculture and the setting up of joint teaching programs. An excursion with researchers from Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira to a coffee farm in the Quindio province will help to get a better understanding of the agricultural sector in Colombia.
