Dr. Arun Khatri-Chhetri from our cooperation partner in South Asia, the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), visited our Chair from February 4-6. During his stay he got to know the TUM campuses in Weihenstephan and Munich. As part of the program, we organised a field trip to a dairy farm in the Franconia region. On February 6, Dr. Khatri-Chhetri gave a guest lecture on the topic "Scaling out climate smart agriculture: evidence and experience from South Asia" and we had a workshop on our planned project/funding application in India.
This visit was part of the TUM Global Incentive Fund. The Chair raised these funds in May 2016 and uses them to build a long-term cooperation with a research partner in India/South Asia. In March 2017, Prof. Dr. Sauer and colleagues from the Chair will visit the cooperation partner in India and Nepal again to further develop the cooperation.
