On Tuesday (10th of December) and Wednesday (11th of December), the Chair of Agricultural Production and Resource Economics will host the kick-off meeting of “AGRO-WELL: Agricultural Robotics and Augmented Reality for Workplace Enhancement and Labor Linkage”, a Research and Innovation Action project funded by HORIZON EUROPE. Prof. Johannes Sauer and his colleagues will welcome 12 partners from 6 different countries (Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, North Macedonia, and The Netherlands), to begin working on the development of five AR, robotics, digital and data-based solutions for improved working conditions in four important farming sectors: greenhouses, open fields, orchards, and pig farming. These solutions will be co-designed with and based on famers’ needs following a multi-actor approach, and their potential towards socio-economic and environmental conditions will be assessed. Together with training materials and policy briefs, this assessment will support the upscaling and adoption of these smart farming technologies.
We wish a good start of the project to the entire consortium. Keep an eye on our newsfeed for future developments of this very interesting project.
