North Africa
The cooperation between the Chair Group of Production and Resource Economics and partners in Egypt (Cairo University, Alexandria University, Heliopolis University, Menoufia University, American University in Cairo and Agricultural Research Center Egypt) was started in 2018 with the aim of conducting research in the field of Climate Smart Agriculture in the arid regions of North Africa and to promote the exchange of students and scientific personnel.
With funds from the TUM Global Incentive Fund, Professor Sauer and Emmanuel Benjamin have already travelled twice to North Africa. Lectures and workshops on the subject of sustainable agriculture were as much a part of the trips as the joint development of a cooperation strategy. The Chair Group is currently working closely with its Egyptian partners on publications and selected project ideas.
